Filmmaker Ekta Kapoor self-confessedly makes TV serials for women and films for men. "That's why we have cast Sunny Leone in Ragini MMS 2," Ekta said on the sets of Comedy Nights With Kapil.
Ragini MMS 2, produced by Ekta and starring Sunny, is set to open later this month, giving funnyman Kapil the perfect reason to invite the two Bollywood celebs on his show for his forthcoming episode.
Dressed in a pink and orange gown, Ekta displayed her wit and quirky humour on the show. She revealed that she secretly dreams of playing dadi's character. "Unfortunately, when I wanted to be an actor, the show Comedy Nights With Kapil did not exist," said the film and TV producer said.
The audience on the set was curious about Sunny and a few naughty comments did the rounds. Riding high on her sensuous image, Sunny cheekily cracked a high-school level joke that her film would release on "Ek Kiss" March, referring to March 21.
Sunny managed to speak a few sentenced in Hindi and at one point even posed as Kapil's "sanskari patni" to give dadi lessons on how to be a perfect mom-in-law.
Kapil asked Ekta what gave her ideas to create characters such as Komolika, Tulsi and Parvati for her various hit TV shows that continue to be household names even today. "I created these characters by peeping into my neighbours' houses," said Ekta. "Komolika was inspired by a famous actress who worked opposite my father (Jeetendra). This actress had all the mannerism that we showed in Komolika," she added.
Ali Asgar, who plays dadi on the shoe, came dressed as a tree saying that she had gone for an audition for a film in which she will play a tree in a forest.
Kiku Sarda, as Palak, was dressed in a white saree with a candle in her hand. She played a ghost, trying to scare Ekta. "Mujhe darana pasand hai, darna nahi (I love scaring people, not getting scared)," said Ekta, who has made several films in the horror genre. Palak even prodded Ekta to audition for the role of a ghost.
The buzz is strong that Kapil was reluctant to have Sunny on his show to promote her last release, Jackpot. Kapil reportedly was not keen to offend his family audience base by having an exporn star on the show. However, competition for ratings from a rival comedy show could be a reason why he agreed this time. In any case, he clearly enjoyed chatting with Ekta and Sunny
