Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif say no to period film

Bollywood beauties Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif, who tasted success this year with commercial films like Chennai Express, Ram-leela, and Dhoom: 3, have reportedly turned down Ashutosh Gowarikar's period film Mohenjo-daro.

A leading tabloid reports that Deepika has apparently said no to director Ashutosh Gowarikar's upcoming film. The tabloid also reported a source as saying, "Deepika is busy shooting for films she has already signed, including Happy New Year, Shuddhi, and Window Seat. She doesn't have any dates for the next two years and thus had to turn down a role in Ashutosh Gowarikar's film, Mohenjo-daro."

Though reports suggest that Gowarikar was keen on signing Deepika for the film as she is a popular choice among filmmakers now.

It is also being said that Gowarikar had approached actress Katrina Kaif for the same role but she too said no to him on account of a packed schedule.

Deepika Padukone leaves Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film for Karan Johar

Actor Deepika Padukone is currently a hot favourite among almost all the directors. From Sanjay Leela Bhansali to Imtiaz Ali to Karan Malhotra, everyone wants to cast her in their films.

And that has put Deepika in the tight spot as her packed schedule is not allowing her to accept all the interesting offers coming her way.

According to reports,  Deepika Padukone will no be doing Bhansali's film, 'Bajirao Mastani' as she has given her dates to Karan Johar's film, 'Shuddhi', which is slated to go on the floors by the end of this year.

"The dates Bhansali wanted from Deepika have been allotted to Karan Johar's 'Shuddhi'. This is why the actress is not in a position to play Mastani in the former's film," a leading tabloid quoted its source.

Kareena Kapoor Khan is reportedly keen on doing Bhansali's film now. There is a buzz that Ajay Devgn may play Bajirao in the film and Kareena has expressed her desire to play Mastani. Priyanka Chopra will play Bajirao's wife, Kashibai.

Well, the final cast of the film will be known after the formal announcement till then keep guessing.

Deepika Worries About Ranveer's Rapport With Anushka Sharma

Deepika's alleged relationship with Ranveer singh is a known story, now, is she worried about Ranveer's rapport with his ex, Anushka Sharma? Although, Deepika and Ranveer just denies the obvious, it is a well known fact and the duo's chemistry just can't be kept under wraps. Recent events and awards function where they were seen together is in itself a proof. Ranveer Singh's next venture in Zoya Akhtar's Dil Dhadakne Do has Anushka Sharma playing a role too.

 Deepika is so impressed with the script that she wants to be part of that venture, even if it was a non-acting role. "I love the script so much that I am ready to work in any capacity on the film, including an assistant director (AD), but I don't know if I can manage that," Dippy said earlier.
 Deepika Padukone's upcoming movies are Homi Adajania's Finding Fanny Fernandes with Arjun Kapoor, Shoojit Sircar's Piku with Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan and Farah Khan's Happy New Year with Shahrukh Khan. We wonder, why is Deepika so interested to be a part of that movie?

Now we hear Deepika’s alleged beau Ranveer Singh has been roped in to play the part that was to be originally portrayed by Hrithik Roshan. This is after reports suggested that Hrithik might just be back on the movie that he had politely turned down after much delay. Looks like we will get to watch theGoliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela jodi back onscreen together soon. HR’s loss has certainly proved to be Mr Singh’s gain, however we wonder if Dippy would have been happier to share screen space with Hrithik.

Remember not so long ago Ms Padukone had a wishlist of heroes she wants to work with that included names of Salman Khan (her current favourite c0-star Shahrukh Khan’s arch rival), Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan and of course the original hero of Shuddhi – Hrithik Roshan. With Roshan opting out of the film and boyfriend Ranveer playing this part, wethinks this might just be a bitter sweet moment for the leggy lass. While her dream to work with HR is yet to come true, we’re sure she wouldn’t mind some fun and quality time with her BF on the sets of their movie. Also considering that Padukone gal was willing to turn assistant director to Zoya Akhtar for her next film with Ranveer, KJo’s offer might just help the busy lovers spend some time with each other, hai na?

With one hit film under their belt looks like this new hit jodi of B-town might bag another movie together. Apparently Karan Johar is keeping this news under wraps, now wethinks this is wise decision considering  Kareena’s successful stint with Dharma Productions has hit all time low. Kareena was left huffing and puffing when one of the most awaited film of hers was delayed innumerable times thanks to Hrithik Roshan’s health at first and followed by work commitments. Apparently Hrithik had informed Kareena in advance about his exit from KJo‘s movie, Roshan Jr chose to work with Katrina Kaif in Bang Bang over reuniting with Kareena on screen after a decade. Deepika Padukone says, "She is jealous of Kangana Ranaut"

Actor Deepika Padukone, who was on a roll with one hit performance after another in 2013, is jealous of another actress! She is in awe of Kangana Ranaut's work in the recently released "Queen".

"I have seen 'Queen' and I am jealous of her performance, I think she was outstanding," the 28-year-old said at an event.

Deepika also praised "Queen" director Vikas Bahl for portraying a woman's emotions so beautifully.

"What a beautiful film. I think if you are a woman and have been in a relationship, just the way he has captured the emotion of the girl and the way he has portrayed it, it's one of the best films I have seen in the longest time and it's outstanding," Deepika said.

"Queen" hit theatres March 7 and is getting rave reviews from both critics and audiences. It also stars Rajkummar Rao and tells the story of a girl who goes for her honeymoon alone and captures her journey of self-discovery.

Soundarya: Kochadaiiyaan is a tribute to Rajinikanth’s illustrious career

Soundarya, daughter of superstar Rajinikanth said that her directorial debut Kochadaiiyaan is a tribute to her father

In a touching speech at the audio launch of the film, Soundarya thanked her father for giving her the opportunity to direct him. “Dad, thank you a million times for being so patient, supportive and encouraging. You were the rock I needed by my side. The film has come to life because of you. We are all here only for you. This film is my tribute to your illustrious career,” Soundarya told reporters here. “This is a humble attempt for me to present you on stage how everybody wants to see you. I’m your biggest fan and I have this opportunity to say it in front of your fans. Thank you very much,” she added.

The trailer of “Kochadaiiyaan” along with the making-of-the-film video was screened at the event, which was attended by fans and big names from the filmdom. Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan was the chief guest.

Kochadaiiyaan, a Tamil period-drama, which has been in the making for nearly two years, is touted to be India’s first performance capture photo-realistic technology 3D animated film. It is slated to release April 11.

Soundarya said that the film took so long because they wanted to make technologically the best film. “This is a first attempt. All first efforts will be challenging. Since the process in this technology is very long, we had to pay attention to every minute detail to master the technology. From a leaf to bird to even dust, we spent a lot of time to bring everything to perfection,” she said.

“It’s because fans want to see our superstar in a different avatar, I have taken so much of time and effort to make the film. So we need your support and blessing for our effort to bring motion capture technology to India,” said Soundarya. Deepika Padukone, who plays the female lead in “Kochadaiiyaan“, was also present along with the rest of the film’s cast.

Rajinikanth’s entire family – wife Latha, daughters Soundarya and Aishwarya, sons-in-law Dhanush and Ashwin were present at the event. Doyens of Tamil cinema such as Shankar, K Balachander, KS Ravikumar, SP Muthuraman, and AVM Saravanan were also present at the audio launch. Double Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman, who has composed music for the film, was also present on the occasion along with lyricist Vairamuthu and sound designer Resul Pookutty.

Deepika Padukone admits relationship is very important for her

Deepika Padukone might be keeping mum about her relationship status, but the B-town babe has confessed that she is completely ruled by her heart. Dippy, who is reportedly dating her Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela co-star, Ranveer Singh, said being in a relationship is the most important thing for her.  “I am completely ruled by my heart, not just relationship wise but choosing films comes straight form my heart. For me being in a relationship is I think very important. I think I can speak on behalf of most of the women that they feel complete when they are in a relationship.The Chennai Express actor recently said that she feels complete when she is in a relationship

“But it has to be a beautiful relationship. A relationship that encourages you and makes you a better person. If it pulls you down or you start becoming someone that you are not it not a place to be in. And I have been in both,” Padukone said at an event recently.

When asked to comment on her relationship with Ranveer, the leggy lass said, “I think I am in a stage where I don’t want to rush into something. For a young girl like me it’s very important to get to know someone, may be it also comes from the fact that I didn’t want to go through heart ache again and you want to be sure about the person that you eventually land up with.”

The ‘Cocktail’ star was in a serious relationship with Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor and the couple split after dating for one year.  Despite her personal life, Padukone has acquired the ‘flavour of the season’ tag after giving back-to-back hits with Cocktail, Race 2, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express and Ram-Leela.

She does not think she has got any formula but she follows her heart while choosing a script.  “I don’t think success for me has a particular formula. I think success comes from following your heart, believing in yourself and being the person you want to be V/s being someone that you are expected to be, and I don’t think you are living an honest life if you are doing that,” she added.
